If you receive this bowl during winter months, please set the package indoors and allow it to acclimate to the indoor temperature for 24 hours prior to use. When the wood contracts, gaps appear as shown in one of the photos. As the temperature adjust to a warmer environment, the gaps close up again. This is not a defect.
