1859 Seated Liberty Quarter struck just two years before the start of the American Civil War. This earlydate 90% silver type coin features Christian Gobrechts classic Seated Liberty design on the obverse and the heraldic eagle reverse used throughout the mid19th century. Pre1860 examples are especially desirable for their lower survival rates and strong historical appeal.
