This is a rare and historically significant layered antique quilt, featuring a classic Nine Patch design with a hidden older quilt used as batting a practice common in rural households in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Era: Main quilt constructed c. 19001915 with fabrics dating from the 1870s1930s
Inner quilt: Clearly visible beneath a torn block features early calico in brown with red print (c. 18701890)
Backing: Black calico with blue & white Victorian floral/geometric print (c. 18801900)
Tied (not quilted), hand-stitched Material: 100% cotton Size: 69" x 71"
Condition: Shows typical wear and aging consistent with its age. Some fading, fabric fraying, and visible repairs. The backing, blocks, and visible inner quilt are structurally stable and intact for display or study. Not possible to see the pattern.
