What a rare and lovely piece of history! This is a ceramic lidded tobacco humidor from the early 1900s made in the Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot factory in France. The handpainted design is done in rich amber tones and dipicts a wonderful scene of nature reclaiming old buildings. The lid has a socket built in where a wet sponge was placed to keep the tobacco moist. This piece measures approximately 5.5" x 5.5" and is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs.
