Late Ming Dynasty Bronze Guanyin & Child Chinese Figurine, Antique

Authentic antique bronze figure, labeled as Late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Chinese, depicting Guanyin (Bodhisattva of Compassion). This statue is often referred to as "Songzi Guanyin" or "Guanyin Giver of Sons," shown standing on a naturalistic base with a boy attendant (sometimes interpreted as a child devotee or one of her acolytes).

The figure has an attractive, dark, mottled patina indicative of age and material. It stands approximately 8.5 inches tall (per ruler in image) and weighs a solid 3.1 pounds. The underside features an impressed rectangular seal mark (possibly a Ming mark or studio mark) and a small central hole, typical for bronze castings of this period. The original antique shop label is also visible, noting the dynasty, material, and a price of $895.00 MRS. Purchased 20 years ago. A truly significant piece for collectors of Asian antiques.
