When Jimmy Connors was creating the Nuveen Challenge (his version of the Senior Tennis Tour ie Senior PGA duplicate/mirror) ... Quality Inns was a major sponsor of the event. This event last several years and played in venues such as Pebble Beach and Newport Beach, amongst others.
This item is ONE OUT OF TWO GARMENTS EVER CREATED BY NEIMAN ... I'm sure as a favor to Jimmy Connors.
The second garmet was a similiar jacket for an event hosted by Muhammad Ali ... again, with the relationship to boxing and the Rocky movies ... it adds up.
This was a high end give away to the major sponsors of this event, 1st Year! Only 100 were made and probably not saved, misunderstanding their value. After all, who knew that Neiman would never design another garment!
