DNA is a long, complex, highly repeated molecule which includes the genetic blueprint for creating and maintaining all life forms. Found most commonly in all human cells, DNA takes the genetic instructions necessary to make specific proteins, enzymes and other molecules necessary for the growth and maintenance of the human body. The DNA that determines our identity is passed down from generation to generation within a person's entire lifetime.

DNA is made up of pairs of DNA strands called the DNA bases and each base carries one or more nucleotides. DNA can be split into two directions, producing perpendicular (X) and horizontal (Y) strands. The DNA bases can be inserted into a DNA primer which causes the sequence of DNA to be copied into a DNA strand. After strand creation, the DNA is inserted into an enzyme-based DNA polymer which makes it active and enables it to copy itself into a new strand.

When DNA molecules are replicated in an independent line, each individual strand will contain two copies of DNA, one that is identical to the first strand and one that is an exact copy of the second strand. The exact amounts of DNA strands are determined by natural genetic codes that regulate their production and activity. The DNA that produces the most variations is called DNA variation. As DNA duplicates over time, the number of differences between strands increases and the DNA sequence becomes unchanging.
