I received this huge Onyx from a friend who was redecorating. It sat on top of a mobile and was never played with, but I cannot say with certainty it is authentic since I am not the original owner.
Compared to my own authentic Jellycat Onyx, I wanted to share a few small differences for anyone considering giving it a new home:
It’s very soft, just not quite as fuzzy as my Onyx. The fur feels similar but about 1/8" shorter- almost like the same material with a tiny “buzz cut.”
It has beads in the belly, tail, and feet just like all the authentic dragons I’ve collected. The head also has that little Jellycat “flop” and its tail has the familiar “curl” the brand is known for.
It feels a bit “fuller” when held- not overstuffed, but the belly seems slightly more filled than usual.
Overall, it’s a lovely dragon, just with a few quirks worth noting. Ethically, I want to be clear that I am UNSURE OF AUTHENTICITY.
