In 2002, the intersection of Park Avenue and 52nd Street was renamed Lew Rudin Way. In the documentary The Lew Rudin Way, filmmaker David Hoffman explores the legacy of the man known as "Mr. New York." Narrated by Sidney Poitier, the film honors the real estate mogul who inherited Rudin Management and dedicated his life to his city.

When NYC faced a 1970s economic crisis, Lew and his brother Jack founded the Association for a Better New York (ABNY) to combat crime and disinvestment. Beyond real estate and civic revitalization, Lew famously helped create the New York City Marathon. Through archival footage and interviews with figures like Barbara Walters and various Presidents, Hoffman illustrates Rudin's impact. As Senator Clinton noted, there was always a "Lew Rudin way of doing things": uniting business, labor, and government to solve the city's greatest challenges.
