A wonderful conversation piece! A traditional art - carved lions on the wooden chair.
This African chair from Uganda represents one of the oldest chair designs in human history. An extremely simple design of just two boards. Purchased in 1998.
The seat board simply slides into a slot carved into the backboard.
The chair is elaborately detailed and deeply carved with a Lion scene.
The small size makes this a great childs chair or accent piece.
Dimensions: height = 19, width = 12 7/8", depth = 15 (The largest board size is 21" long, 12 7/8" wide, 1 1/8" deep.)
Brought back from trip to Africa in the late 1999.
