Vintage 1980s INTEL JASDF Military Tie Clip Japanese Air Self Defense Force

Circa 1980s Vintage INTEL JASDF Metal & Enamel Tie Clip Worn By My Father When He Worked With the Japanese Air Self Defense Force Military.

My father was a Chinese Language Specialist educated with the US military at Yale Language School in Connecticut (where I was born in 1959) and worked closely with the Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese in the 1960's as US Air Force Intelligence, decoding and assessing the Communist Chinese threat in Asia. My father later left the Air Force and worked for the US Government NSA stationed in Taiwan and Korea in the 1970's, but he always fondly told our family and friends stories of his times working with the military in Japan, where he often had to travel for work. He was stationed in Hawaii with the DOD in the 1980's working closely with the US and foreign military when he received this tie bar.

The tie clip is lightly worn. There is some surface scratching on the front of the tie clip. The back clip spring is still nice and strong.
