This piece features classic post-firing raku reduction, with deep iridescent blacks, blues, and copper tones, along with matte resist patterns that create strong contrast and surface movement. The finish and firing characteristics are consistent with late 1980s American studio raku work.
The bowl has a substantial feel for its size and works well as a decorative vessel, small planter, or sculptural accent. As typical with raku pottery, this piece is decorative only and not food-safe.
