Vintage Marwal Chihuahua Dog Figurine 12 Inch Statue Mid Century Modern

This vintage Marwal Chihuahua figurine stands approximately 12 inches tall, 6.5" front to back and 4.5" side to side. Features lifelike detailing typical of Marwal Studios' mid-century sculptures. I am unsure what this is made of, but if I had to guess, I would say ceramic. The dog has a glossy tan & cream glaze with black accents, capturing the expressive look of the Chihuahua breed. Marked “Marwal” on the back near the bottom. There are 2 small paint chips, one on its tail & one on its hind leg, both near the base. There is a scratch & a few tiny paint chips on the tip of one ear, one foot & very tiny paint chip to its back. There is a faint firing crack at the top of one leg from the original production process. The crack does not affect the structure or stability of the piece. It has the usual bumps under the glazing, also from manufacturing. None of which detract significantly from its display quality. Overall, it remains a beautiful example of Marwal’s craftsmanship.
